After conducting interviews, the impartial and diverse panel selected, who we believe to be, the most qualified candidate for the position.

The Hispanic Vote of Southwest Florida

Endorsement for Diana Giraldo for Fort Myers City Council Ward 6

It is an honor to endorse Diana Giraldo for the Fort Myers City Council Ward 6.

I have had the opportunity to get to know and work with Diana over the past two years when we served on the News Press Editorial Board.

Her deep commitment to the community is evident in her work in Streets Alive of SWFL, a local non profit dedicated to creating safe places for cyclists and pedestrians in SWFL. Streets Alive successfully championed the completion of bike paths and sidewalk extensions in Ward 6, creating safe, off street passage for children and families to neighboring schools shopping, medical services and community spaces. She has been active in many volunteer organizations in our community such as News Press Young Professionals Advisory Board, Woman's March Fort Myers, 2020. SWFL Community Foundation, Community Sustainability Advisory committee, and City of Fort Myers Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee. She also has served as a mentor for SWFL Foundation for Lee County Schools. She is a conscientious, visionary leader who understands the power of community engagement and she has proven not to be afraid to get in the trenches to understand the needs of her community.

Her professional experience in the private and public sector has give her an expertise in the areas of community development/sustainability projects and knowledge of internal operations and functions of our city.

She served for eight years in the City of Fort Myers Community Development Department.

She is currently the Business Development Director at E3 Building Sciences that focuses on community development projects that impact livability and sustainability for sensible real estate development design, performance and best green construction practices.

Her job experience has given her a deep knowledge and understanding of local issues.

Diana is a knowledgeable, skilled and thoughtful leader and is well respected by all that know her. She would be an asset to the Fort Myers City Council

I highly recommend her.
